Brighter Futures

About Brighter Futures in the Blue Mountains

The Brighter Futures program  supports families with children aged eight years or younger, or those who are expecting a baby, and who are experiencing difficulties. We will work with parents and children to develop their family goals and work towards them together for the long term benefit of their children.

Brighter Futures provide a range of services including:

  • Case management and home visits
  • Parenting programs
  • Childcare support
  • limited financial support

Children will be safer, valued and happier.

Parents will set goals for their family, increase understanding of your child's development, be more confident and more connected with your community.

Joining Brighter Futures is Voluntary.

The Brighter Futures program is for families who have little support from family and friends and are finding parenting tough.

Families facing child behaviour management problems, needing help with parenting skills, drug and alcohol problems, mental health issues, domestic violence or parents with significant learning difficulties may also be able to be in the program.

Gateway Family Services works in conjunction with Blue Mountains Family Support, Mountains Outreach Community services and Connect Child and Family Services (the lead agency for the Blue Mountains Consortium) in delivering  the Brighter Futures Program. Together we ensure Blue Mountains families have the extra support needed when times are tough.
